Before Kenshiro Kasumi said "You're already dead," there was another Kenshiro who roamed the dangerous streets of Shanghai. The city is in turmoil as two rival mafia families fight for dominance. In this chaos, a young girl named Erika loses her parents and is later taken under the care of martial artist Liu Fei-Yan. Despite Fei-Yan's best efforts to find her a new home, every guardian she places with ends up dead. Eventually, Fei-Yan decides to bring Erika to meet Guise, but instead encounters Kenshiro Kasumi, the powerful martial artist.
