In the early days of the Tigers team, there was a tattooist named Tora who also played on the team. He had a massive tiger tattoo on his back that reminded him of his name, which means "tiger." Tora was known for being a jolly character with great strength, and he used a prosthetic leg without any issues.
One day, while performing a check-up at the hospital, Tora met Togawa, who had just lost his right arm in an accident. Despite this setback, Tora immediately recognized Togawa's name and told him to use a wheelchair before speeding away. When Yama took Togawa to one of the Tigers sessions, Tora was astonished by his strength and speed, which made him feel like he could still compete with the feelings he had while running.
When Togawa returned to see the Tigers after crying over Azumi, Tora praised him for being "good" and "excellent," even though everyone else found it puzzling. He then asked Togawa to drive a wheelchair, which made him feel equal to the rest of the team despite his struggles with wheeling a chair.
Tora brought Togawa to his tattoo shop, where he had a fright when Toras apprentices mistook him for Tora and attacked him. Getting him drunk, Tora managed to make Togawa spill everything he had bottled up since his amputation, particularly his feelings towards his father, who made him feel like "nothing but a baggage."
After listening to him, Tora encouraged Togawa to fight for himself no matter what others thought of him and gave him his basketball wheelchair as a symbol of their brotherhood. The next day, Togawa asked Tora for a star tattoo on his chest as proof of his new life, marking the end of Toras time in the shop since he was going to travel around the world.
In retrospect, Tora had the most significant influence on Togawas life after his amputation, showing him that the world did not end after this event. This is why Togawa does not want the Tigers to end or even leave them, despite the Dreams manager and a national team wanting him to do so.
