In winter, Yuichi became ill with hepatitis and had to be hospitalized. Despite trying to escape, he was physically harmed by a nurse. One day, while in the hospital, he encountered Rika, a young woman his age, who lived nearby. He found her attractive but discovered that she was selfish due to her illness, which left her with limited time to live.
