In the distant future, humanity faces an attack from the advanced humanoid beings known as the Abh Empire. As their technology far surpasses that of Earth, countless worlds fall under their control. To fight back, humans form the Four Nations Alliance-a resistance group consisting of the United Mankind, Republic of Greater Alcont, Federation of Hania, and Peoples Sovereign of Union Planets. Seikai no Monshou follows Jinto Linn, a young count whose father sold Martine in exchange for an imperial position. Now living among his oppressors, Jinto must learn the customs of Abh nobility. Alongside him is Lafiel Abriel, an austere Abh princess whom he quickly befriends. While traveling to Jintos new school in the Abh homeland, their ship becomes caught up in a space battle between the Alliance and the Abh Empire. Unaware of the gravity of the situation, Jinto and Lafiel are thrust into the conflict, marking the beginning of a full-scale war between mankind and the Abh.
