In order to prepare for the Nina Lutz Music Festival in Nagano, world-renowned conductor Franz von Stresemann sends four of his top music students - Shinichi Chiaki, Megumi "Nodame" Noda, Ryuutarou Mine, and Masumi Okuyama - to study under other esteemed masters. During their journey to the festival, Chiaki becomes frustrated with his friends' behavior, but later wakes up from a nap to find that they have taken a detour to a beach in Niigata. When Nodame proposes renting an inflatable boat to row over to a nearby island, will Chiaki be able to keep his secret?
