The commencement of another vibrant year at Seishou Music Academy is underway with the emergence of a new generation of gifted young women. The graduating 99th class is currently in preparation for the highly anticipated performance of Starlight, a poignant tale about two girls bidding farewell to each other. It appears that all students within the Actor Training Department have secured their post-graduation plans except for Karen Aijou. Despite having fulfilled her pledge to perform alongside Hikari Kagura in a play, Karen is grappling with discovering her purpose beyond this promise. The enigma of what lies beyond their pact remains unclear to Karen as she was propelled by Hikari's passion for performing, which ignited her own flame. Now confronted with the stark reality of stage performers, Karen must embark on a journey towards finding her place in the world-her very own stage.

Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight Movie was originally scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 21, 2021 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Japans extended period of state of emergency. The film premiered in North America as Revue Starlight: The Movie at Anime Central 2022 on May 20, 2022, and in theaters on June 5, 2022.The movie was released on Blu-ray in Japan on December 22, 2021.
