Papuwa-kun was a young boy who lived on a small island in the South Pacific with his beloved dog, Chappy. They enjoyed their peaceful life together until one day Shintaro arrived on the island, fleeing from gangsters. When he encountered Papuwa-kun and Chappy, Shintaro's precious jewel was stolen by Chappy, causing a rift between the two boys that would last for years to come. Despite this unfortunate incident, they continued to have many exciting adventures and experiences together.
