The creation of mewtwo was a successful science experiment that went awry. a group of scientists discovered the dna of the ancient pokémon mew and attempted to harness its potential with advanced cloning techniques and resources from team rocket's giovanni. however, their intentions were sinister as they aimed to create the ultimate living weapon for giovanni's criminal empire. the resulting psychic pokémon, mewtwo, was a terrifying creature that learned of his true purpose - to be an experiment and a tool for giovanni's evil plans. mewtwo broke free from control and created his own island fortress, reconstructing the cloning technology that brought him to life. he lured the best trainers in the world to his base under the guise of being a master pokémon trainer. among these were ash ketchum, pikachu, brock, and misty. together, they must uncover mewtwo's plans and stand against his vengeful might. if they fail, mewtwo will lead to tyranny over all pokémon and the extinction of the human race.

The Origin of Mewtwo was originally not included with the theater release but every subsequent release has included it, so this entry includes it as well in its runtime.
