A high school student named aruto kirihara is deeply fascinated by the alice stories written in an alternate world by the mysterious author alternite l. tachyon. one night while working on a possible third book, he sees a flying girl who resembles his imagined "alice." he pursues her and ends up at a library where he witnesses her fighting another costumed girl. this marks aruto's sudden entry into the world of alices, an exclusive group of super-powered teenage girls who regularly engage in combat in a multi-dimensional wonderland to obtain each other's "hidden stories." once all stories are collected, they will form the legendary third volume, "eternal alice," and its owner will be granted one wish. while aruto may not possess magical powers like the others, his sister kiraha or dream girl arisu could potentially benefit from this wish.
