La Grenadière, ざくろ屋敷

The Japanese painter Takeshi Fukazawa has created an animated adaptation of Honoré de Balzac's novel "La Grenadière" using over 70 tempera paintings. This work, titled "Ga-nime," tells the story of a mother and child in the 19th century, set to music that enhances the overall experience. Fukazawa and collaborator Koji Fukada have successfully captured the atmosphere of Balzac's beloved mansion through their artistic depictions, stirring the imagination and emotions of viewers with this unique animated adaptation.
