In the peaceful town of Seize, located on the outskirts of Helvetia, citizens go about their daily routines without being disturbed by the escalating military tensions between their country and neighboring Rome. Amidst this calm atmosphere, the 1121st platoon of the Helvetian army, stationed at Clocktower Fortress in Seize, receives a new recruit in the form of Kanata Sorami. Driven by her passion to learn how to play the bugle and fulfill her dream, she eagerly accepts the guidance of Sergeant Major Rio Kazumiya, who is an accomplished trumpeter. Alongside them are other members such as Noël Kannagi, a reserved mechanic; Kureha Suminoya, a feisty gunner; and Captain Felicia Heideman, a compassionate leader. Together, they experience the serenity of life in Seize and the enduring happiness that comes from being part of a community that has weathered adversity.

Alongside Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin and Senkou no Night Raid, So Ra No Wo To was part of the "Anime no Chikara" project, a project to create more original anime, not based on any existing media.
