In 1864 Japan, there was a young woman named Chizuru Yukimura who searched for her missing father, Koudou, who was a doctor by profession. Despite months of silence from him, she disguised herself as a man and went to Kyoto in search of him. However, while trying to hide from ronin, she witnessed the brutal murder of these men by white-haired crazies. In an unexpected turn of events, members of the Shinsengumi arrived to eliminate the creatures. Unfortunately, Chizuru's safety did not last long as they tied her up and took her back to their headquarters, uncertain about whether to kill or spare her life. However, once she revealed her father's name, the Shinsengumi decided to protect her since they too were looking for him. But Koudou was more connected to the Shinsengumi than they realized, leading Chizuru into a conflict between them and their enemies as well as political tensions in Kyoto.
