The documentary is about how the a-bomb explosion on august 6th, 1945 caused devastation in hiroshima. it uses "pica" to describe the bright flash of the bomb and "don" for the massive shock wave that followed. this was the first time animation was used globally to address a sensitive topic like hiroshima. the film's completion led to the founding of the hiroshima international animation festival in 1984, recognizing animation as an impactful art form.
