Kaze o Mita Shonen

Amon, a young boy with unique abilities, is the son of the chief scientist for the powerful nation known as the Empire of the Golden Snake. His father has created weapons for this country in the past but fears that his son's powers could be used for destruction. To protect his family and research, he burns it all down and attempts to flee the country. Unfortunately, Amon's parents are killed during their escape, leaving him alone. He runs from the military and eventually finds himself on an island where he learns about ancient people who possessed the ability to fly on the wind and communicate with animals. These abilities align with his own powers, and he befriends Maria in a fisherman's village. The village is later attacked by the Empire of the Golden Snake, prompting Amon and Maria to join forces with a group of rebels to stop the empire from destroying everything. This story is based on C.W. Nicol's book.
