Before the anime began, three groups - Garan Army, Kiba Army, and Aira Army - fought for control over Machine Island. This island is a prison, cut off from the rest of the world, and holds an abundance of resources to build giant robots for each army. However, it was discovered that the power reactor on the island would explode in 66 hours, destroying all life and Earth itself. The government dispatched the Death Caprice squad, consisting of mercenaries Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami along with their giant robot Mazinkaiser to resolve this issue. Was this a wise decision?
