The story revolves around an unfortunate incident that leads to a custodian transforming into Janemba, a massive demon with destructive powers. Since his heroic death in battle against Cell, Gokuu Son has been competing in martial arts tournaments for the undead. However, when Janembas chaos draws him and Pikkon towards him, they must find a way to defeat the monster. After their confrontation, Gokuu witnesses another transformation of Janemba: he loses his fat and changes color, becoming an even more powerful enemy with sword-wielding abilities. With Vegeta's help, Gokuu must stop Janemba from disrupting the universe fabric.
