Optimus Prime and his Autobot warriors were compelled to depart from their home world Cybertron because of the imminent danger posed by the Blackhole. As they prepared to embark on a new journey, Vector Prime cautioned Optimus about the potential risks to the galaxy if the four Cyber Planet Keys were not obtained in a timely manner. However, Megatron had his own agenda for the universe.
As they set out on their quest, they encountered various planets inhabited by diverse Transformer species and the Convoys who governed these worlds. These new environments presented unique challenges and opportunities for Optimus and his team to gather knowledge and resources that would aid them in their mission to safeguard the galaxy from Megatron's malevolent plans.
The series was supposed to be the final installment of the Unicron Trilogy formed with the previous two series, [Transformers Micron Densetsu[/i] and Transformers Superlink. However, the Japanese production did not follow through on this intent by Hasbro, scripting the series as an independent story unconnected to the preceding shows. The English dub partially modified the series to establish links back to the two series, including changes to dialogue. (Source: Wikipedia)
