The protagonist in this story, Claude C. Kenni, is a member of the crew on the spaceship Calnus and also happens to be the son of its commander. He gets transported to Expel, which is a planet that's quite different from Earth - it has swords and magic instead of modern technology. There he meets Rena Lanford, who believes him to be the legendary Warrior of Light, and other characters as they work together to investigate the Sorcery Globe, a meteorite that has been causing problems all over the world.
