Since assuming the role of Mikage Shrines patron god, Nanami Momozono and her companions have faced numerous trials. As a result, Otohiko, the wind god, invites Nanami to attend the Divine Assembly in Izumo, where gods reside. While Mizuki accompanies Nanami, Tomoe is left behind at school posing as her. However, Nanami has an ulterior motive for attending the assembly: she seeks to locate Lord Mikage, the former deity of the shrine who vanished.
Following her journey in Izumo, Nanami encounters Botanmaru, a tengu child searching for someone familiar with Shinjirou Kurama, a goth idol turned tengu prince. Botanmaru requires Shinjirou's return to Mount Kurama to put an end to Jirou's tyranny over their homeland. Nevertheless, Nanami soon discovers that a power far darker than Jirou is at work on the mountain.
As she navigates her newfound divinity, Nanami must deal with a tengu rebellion, her burgeoning feelings for Tomoe, and an enigmatic man connected to both Tomoe's past and Nanami's future.
