On one occasion, six children were playing an RPG-style video game at their homes after a soccer match. One child scored the winning goal, another was the goalkeeper who barely missed the ball, while two groups of two supported each team. Suddenly, when they defeated a boss, a strange object appeared in front of them and drew them into the game world. Tomoru (scorer), Mio, Dai, and Professor Galileo found themselves together in this new reality called Eureka, created by the professor himself but with an unintended consequence: he had also been sucked into it. To return to their own world, they needed to complete missions that appeared in specific locations. When a mission emerged, Tomoru and his companions persuaded Professor Galileo to accompany them.
Upon arriving at area C-1, they discovered not only a task but also a rival group. The opposing professor had brought their soccer teammates Yukio, Suzuka, and Kouta along with him. Their objective was a scientific mission: first, the computer would explain how lightning is formed, then they needed to devise a plan to halt it in order to complete the assignment. Tomoru and his companions successfully accomplished this task and obtained a Eureka Stone, which allowed them to depart from Eureka. However, they learned that the gateway back required ten Eureka Stones before it would open. Thus, there was much science to be studied and missions to be completed before they could return home.
