Satomi Amano is a highly accomplished student and the daughter of Hoshima's leading project manager in AI technology. Despite her privileged position, she feels isolated from her classmates due to her status. On an ordinary day while preparing for school, Satomi discovers that her mother has proposed a new AI project aimed at determining whether robots can coexist with humans. Excited by the prospect of learning more about this initiative, Satomi attends school and is surprised to find the AI herself among her classmates. As a research subject, Shion Ashimori must blend in seamlessly as an ordinary teenager without revealing her true identity. However, she has another objective: to make Satomi happy by using her singing talent to create harmonious melodies that connect with her new friends and ease the tension within Satomi's heart.

Ai no Utagoe wo Kikasete won the Audience Award at the Scotland Loves Animation Film Festival in October 2021. The movie was also awarded Best Animation Film at the 2021 New York City Film & Television Festival. In 2022, the film was nominated for the Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 45th Japan Academy Film Prize.The film was co-produced by Funimation.
