In Ark Earth Online, a virtual reality online multiplayer roleplaying game, there was a mage named Dunbalf who had a distinguished appearance with an elderly body and a long white beard. He was known as one of the strongest player characters and earned the title "one-man army." Alongside King Solomon and the Nine Wise Mages, they formed the Kingdom of Alcait. However, on a certain day, Dunbalf and the other mages disappeared without any trace left behind. To spend his remaining credits before they expired, Dunbalf purchased a cosmetic kit and made some modifications to his character. Unfortunately, he fell asleep during the customization process and woke up to discover that he had transformed into a cute girl! Upon reaching Alcait, he learned that 30 years had passed since his disappearance. As instructed by King Solomon, Dunbalf, now known as Mira - the Pupil of the Wise Man Dunbalf, set out on a quest to locate the missing mages and prove his legacy.

Kenja no Deshi wo Nanoru Kenja was set to premiere in Fall 2021 but was delayed until January 2022.The series was released on Blu-ray and DVD in three volumes from April 27, 2022 to June 24, 2022.
