When Takemichi Hanagaki was in the second year of middle school, he felt like his life had reached its peak. He had respect from others, a group of loyal friends, and even a girlfriend. However, twelve years have passed since then, and now Takemichi is struggling to make ends meet as an adult. A recent news report about the Tokyo Manji Gang's brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend and her brother has only made things worse for him. As he stands on the platform of a train that will end his life soon, Takemichi suddenly flashes back to twelve years ago when he was still dating Hinata Tachibana. In this flashback, he meets Hinatas younger brother and admits to his impending death before returning to the past. When he returns to the future, he finds that it has changed, and he discovers that he can alter the course of time. Takemichi is given a chance to prevent his ex-girlfriend's tragic death at the hands of the Tokyo Manji Gang, so he decides to fly through time to change the outcome of events.
