The Taira clan, also known as the Heike, holds significant power over Japan. When a young girl who can see the future disrespects the clan, her father pays for his mistake with his life. Later, Shigemori-the eldest son of the clan leader-encounters the same girl and decides to take care of her rather than let her die. In this time of increasing military conflict, the Heike are engaged in a strategic battle for control. Shigemori has the ability to see spirits of the dead and is both hopeful and anxious about preventing his clan's downfall. However, Biwa, who has experienced great suffering at the hands of the Heikes, is hesitant to reveal the future to him and must adjust to her new life filled with joy and sorrow in this crucial moment in Japanese history.
