In post-war Japan, four nations fight for control over the country, each heading their own military region. Although the Boundary War has ended, tensions between these factions persist, resulting in heavy oppression of the Japanese population. Amou Shiiba, a 16-year-old orphan boy, discovers an abandoned AMAIM named Kenbu while rebuilding it secretly. Gai, an autonomous AI seeking battery power, crosses paths with Amou and they form an alliance. However, their actions lead to disastrous consequences, and Amou is labeled a terrorist and exiled from society. Despite this, he remains determined to fight against injustice and embarks on a journey filled with challenges and companionship. His ultimate goal shifts from living a peaceful life to liberating the Japanese people.
