In this world, cargo is transported by zeppelins, but air pirates pose a threat to air commerce and hold towns hostage. To protect against these airborne attackers, mercenary pilots like those in the Kotobuki Squadron are hired. These female pilots fly lightweight Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighters in a deadly game of escort, where even a small mistake can result in a fatal crash or collision.
