In Terra's land, natural disasters of unknown origin have been occurring sporadically in various regions. To avoid these calamities, many individuals migrated to mobile cities that were developed over time. The Originium left behind at disaster sites has accelerated civilization growth due to its immense energy. However, it also brought about an uncurable disease known as Oripathy. This condition causes the bodies of those affected to gradually crystallize and become a new source of infection upon death. In many countries, infected individuals are subjected to persecution under regimes of segregation and compulsory labor. Those who were oppressed by governments are beginning to rise up in rebellion. Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company researching a cure for Oripathy, has taken up arms and commenced a conquest with the aim of saving all those afflicted by the disease.

Arknights: Reimei Zensou adapts the Hour of An Awakening main story arc of Hypergryph's 2019 mobile game Arknights. The anime supports 5.1ch surround audio and a 2.35:1 CinemaScope screen ratio to provide a movie-like watching experience.The series was released in a Blu-ray box on February 22, 2023.
