The Taipingtao Revolution may have ended in defeat, but its remnants continue to resist, leading China into a seemingly endless war. The aftermath of this massive rebellion has left behind negative emotions that form miasma, giving birth to malevolent beings known as the "wangliang." These creatures possess humans and turn them into horrifying demons, perpetuating more deaths and miasma in a vicious cycle.
To counteract these threats, the Tianyuan deities have chosen certain individuals to be "Hunters," accompanied by "Guizhan" specialists who can absorb miasma and transform into demons themselves. After an accident involving one of the Guizhans led to the disbandment of the Sixth Hunter Unit, three promising Hunters - Ji Ying, Qiao Xun, and Yan Ding - were designated by the Tianyuan to reform the group. However, for reasons unknown, Xiao Ling, the young Guizhan responsible for the accident, was also appointed to fight alongside them. Despite growing tensions, these members must work together to achieve victory against their common enemy.
