Despite her weak heart, Suzune Miyama has always dreamed of becoming an idol. Her opportunity comes in the form of the seventh Selection Project, a series of brutal competitions known to be the starting point for legendary idols like Akari Amasawa. Anxious but excited, Suzune enters the preliminary round of Selection Project and impresses the judges with her singing talent. However, she freezes up during her performance due to nerves and loses the winning spot, getting disqualified. But fate has other plans for Suzune when Seira Kurusu, the girl she lost to, announces that she will drop out of Selection Project, believing Suzune is a more talented singer and deserves the right to compete. Caught off guard by this decision, Suzune promises Seira that they will meet again as top idols. She prepares herself for the challenging obstacles that lie ahead.
