As Shiori begins her academic journey as a first grader, she encounters the aspect of school that she has heard rumors about-homework. However, her initial concerns quickly turn into excitement as the girls from Asahigaoka agree to work together on their assignments at Komari and Natsumi Koshigayas house. Their plan seems successful until procrastination creates a distraction for Natsumi. On another day, Natsumi asks her teacher Kazuho Miyauchi if she can form and lead a new badminton school club. Although funding and equipment are lacking, the girls persist and ask Kaede Kagayama for help. During their spontaneous practice, a minor accident leads Kaede to reminisce about babysitting Renge Miyauchi.
