In modern times, individuals who have lost their self-esteem due to negative emotions, commonly referred to as "Despair People," are prevalent in society. These people's minds are being consumed by monsters that arise from their negative feelings, causing social problems through the hosts who have lost their egos. Amida, a high school student, is designated as a hero by an extraterrestrial entity known as Infinity X. She gains the ability to access humans' inner worlds and combat monsters using her "imagination" as a weapon. However, she gradually becomes aware that she is taking a piece of the hosts' memories when defeating these monsters. Meanwhile, her best friend Kirari has transformed into a Despair Person.
