The city's academies are divided into their own districts and operate independently. However, they are overseen by the General Student Council as a whole. Recently, the council's ability to govern has been hindered due to the mysterious disappearance of its president. As a result, various issues have arisen throughout Kivotos. In order to prevent further problems, the General Student Council has turned to the Federal Investigation Club, also known as Schale, for assistance. Schale is the city's newest club and was approved just before the president disappeared. To help resolve these incidents, Schale enlists the guidance of a Sensei. Students in Academy City are required to carry personal weapons and smartphones, offering a taste of military action, love, and friendship.
Blue Archive the Animation adapts the first story volume of the 2021 smartphone game Blue Archive developed by Nexon Games.The series was released on Blu-ray in four volumes from August 28, 2024, to November 27, 2024.
