A high school student named Gorou attends a private school in Tokyo and has no aspirations or dreams. He feels indifferent to the world around him and spends his days with his best friend Akitsu while harboring a secret crush on Honoka, another classmate at the same school. One day, Gorou receives an unexpected notification on his phone that he has been chosen to make a wish. Feeling skeptical, he tweets a sarcastic response and is subsequently invited by Honoka to pull down his pants in a secluded arcade. Afterward, a mysterious girl named Lall appears, informing Gorou of a grim fate. The "Great Will" has chosen him to fulfill his wish, and in order to do so, he must engage in a deadly battle with other Kamisama (God) candidates until only one remains. Honoka was the first potential Kamisama candidate that Gorou encountered, and despite her initial attack on him, he ultimately chose to fight alongside her in the grueling competition for the title of God.
