Mars is now almost entirely covered in water. People live in large city-ships that float through open seas. However, life on Mars is difficult due to a struggling economy, limited job opportunities, and expensive food that is highly valued. Gram and his friends try their best but struggle with the lack of work. Some have turned to piracy to combat corruption in government, including the feared Ship of Aurora's pirates. The Earth government has dispatched military pilots to combat these pirates using specialized mecha called Round Bucklers. Caught up in a dangerous situation, Gram finds himself on the run with the most notorious pirates on Mars. But here's the twist - he's starting to like them!
