Akira fudou's life as a high school student takes an unexpected turn when he encounters bullies at school. he is saved by his childhood friend ryou asuka and they spend the afternoon catching up before crashing a party at a nightclub. although initially uncomfortable with the environment, akira is shocked to witness violence among the club's patrons transform into demonic monsters. the intervention of amon, a powerful demon, saves them from harm and forms devilman-a being that uses akira's strong empathy for humanity to protect it from demon threats.
