Kyou kara Maou! is an anime series that follows Yuri Shibuya, a typical Japanese teenager. In one instance, Yuri witnesses his classmate being bullied by others. Despite intervening, he ends up becoming the target of the bullies himself and gets his head pushed into a toilet. However, instead of water, the toilet contains a portal that transports him to another world resembling medieval Europe. There, he is told that due to his black hair and eyes, he will become the next Demon King. Although some demons are initially skeptical about Yuri's worthiness, after winning a duel using his magical powers, they begin to accept him as their king. Now, Yuri must learn how to be an effective leader in this new realm while maintaining peace between demons and humans.
