Dr. Kazuki, who believed in an invasion of Earth by the Izaru people, constructed a robot based on magnetism and sphere joint theory. After undergoing a risky enhancement procedure, Dr. Kazukis daughter Mai became the pilot of "Mighty" or "Magnetman Minus." Takeshi Houjou piloted "Puraiza" or "Magnetman Plus." The pilots would physically connect their bodies and transform into a metallic plate that locked onto the Gakeen robots frame, allowing the super robot to move and battle. This sequence was notable for its almost-sexual connotation to an adult eye.
