The third installment in Tadao Nagahamas Romance Super Robot Trilogy is "Chou Denji Machine Voltes V". Following the destruction of their home planet, Barm's survivors journey to Earth with the intention of purchasing land for emigration. However, during negotiations, Leon, the leader of Barm, is assassinated by his second-in-command, Olban, and the Earth delegation is falsely accused of the murder. Doctor Isamu Ryuuzaki from the Earth team is killed shortly after the talks' disastrous conclusion. Afterward, the Valerians (formerly known as Barmians) launch a campaign of terror against Earth, led by Admiral Richter, Leon's son. He deploys various "Mecha Soldiers" to attack Earth's defenses. The only thing standing between Earthlings and annihilation is Daimos, the transforming super robot piloted by Kazuya Ryuuzaki. However, things take a turn when Kazuya falls in love with Erika, Richter's sister. Throughout their struggles to reunite, they learn that people on both sides are not entirely evil and that their own people have flaws as well.
