The demon empire has returned to take over the earth after 12 millennia of slumber. reideen, a giant robot-like guardian from mu, senses an evil presence and wakes up in its golden pyramid. akira hibiki, a young japanese boy, discovers that he is the descendant of ancient mu people who must help reideen save earth with assistance from his friends, including mari sakurano, daughter of a scientist fighting against the demon empire, and members of his high school soccer team.
