In 972 A.D., Kyoto was the capital city of ancient Japan. Despite being a prosperous center of culture and commerce, it had become increasingly corrupt and run-down due to the self-centered actions of powerful samurai and onmyoji who only cared about gaining political power. To make matters worse, the city was plagued by famine and disease. The Imperial Court recognized the severity of the situation and sent Minamoto no Raiko, a renowned archer known for his skills, to retrieve a legendary gem believed to possess mystical powers that could save the world. However, Raiko himself fell ill with disease. In response, his youngest sister, Hikaru, secretly decided to undertake the journey in his place, determined to find the gem and restore hope to Kyoto. Throughout her travels, Hikaru encountered many people and experienced numerous adventures as she searched for the legendary gem.
