Shunichi domoto is a skilled and energetic 5th-grade student who assists sport teams at school. in order to help his friend beso retrieve his stolen yoyo from a bully named benkei, he enters into a yoyo duel against him. although he emerges victorious, shunichi later encounters the incredibly talented seito hojoin, who defeats him while mocking the yoyo game. driven by revenge, shunichi decides to participate in japan's yoyo championship to confront his loss with seito. during this competition, he learns new skills and faces powerful opponents.
