Tokyo Flower Television's most popular newscaster is Etsuko Yamanobe, who gained notoriety for disregarding morals and ethics in order to outshine her competitors. Her sole focus is on fame and fortune, with everything else being secondary. During a slow week, Etsuko learns of an ongoing hostage situation involving Marude Damesuke, who was recently fired and seeks revenge against his former boss' daughter, Mayumi Wakabayashi. Despite the police standoff between Damesuke and the authorities, Etsuko takes charge and creates her own scenario to resolve the conflict. However, this may involve putting herself and others in danger.
