A set of space incidents are discovered to be caused by the Armanoid extraterrestrial beings who intend to take over our planet. Professor Tachibana assembles a team at the Future Science Invention Center, creating five advanced vehicles for Shin, Go, Lisa, and Captain Kenmotsu. The combined efforts of three Test Vehicles result in the construction of the gigantic Zero Tester robot, which successfully repels the Armanoid invasion over 38 episodes. Subsequent series ZT: Save the Earth! (Chikyu wo Mamotte!) targets a younger audience and includes an attack by new alien species, the Gallos.
