Musashi resides with his father after his mother left them three years ago. Although he believes she will return, he feels homesick when they relocate from Tokyo to a rural village. He wonders if his mother can locate him in their new abode. After settling into their countryside home, Musashi encounters a man fishing for bass using a decoy fish. This piques Musashi's interest in lure fishing, which he learns about from the fisherman. He discovers that his mother's father was an accomplished bass fisherman. Inspired by this revelation and his passion for fishing, Musashi embarks on numerous journeys worldwide to search for diverse fish species. Through these expeditions, he develops a profound appreciation for nature and learns to enjoy living in the countryside.
