On July 27th, 1996, Mr. Takeyuki Kanda passed away at the age of 52. Born on August 11th, 1943, he was a renowned director who helmed several animations, including VIFAM. In honor of his memory, a new TV series of VIFAM was broadcasted in 1998. The show ran from March 21st to October 3rd (in the Kansai area) and consisted of 26 episodes. Despite being a sidestory, it introduced several new characters, vehicles, and other features.
The story could be inserted between episodes #22 and #26 of VIFAM, with parts one through fourteen comprising Act I, episodes #15 to #18 forming the Interlude, and episodes #19 to #26 making up Act II. While these acts may have little connection in reality, they could be considered as a New Testament-like narrative, but now regarded as an apocrypha or even worse, a pseudo-VIFAM. To fully understand this story's reasons for being classified as such, it is recommended to watch the series.
