Edo Never Sleeps, Sleepless Oedo, お江戸はねむれない!, お江戸はねむれない

The 18th century marks the beginning of the Kyouhou era, a time when Japan's merchant culture was at its peak. In Edo's Yoshiwara district, there is a renowned courtesan named Usugumo, known for her beauty and character. Despite being the daughter of a Christianized prostitute and Tokugawa Yoshimune (a real historical figure who served as the 8th Shogun of Japan), she cannot be with him due to political power struggles. Her life takes a turn when she encounters Kikunosuke, a thief with blonde hair, Aoto Touichirou, a doctor who uses Western medicine, and Kotetsu, her cat companion. Together, they form the Kikugumi, a group of thieves. Meanwhile, a member of an enigmatic organization targets Usugumo for reasons yet to be revealed.
