A fifth-grade student named Toriyasu and his younger sister, Meeko, have been searching for their missing dog, Papadoll, for a week. One night, two cats take them on an adventure to Banipal Witt, a distant land where Papadoll was kidnapped. During their journey, they discover that the sun's exposure in Banipal Witt has caused Papadoll to mutate into a giant dog monster. The city of Banipal Witt is under the control of Princess Buburina, who has the ability to turn anyone she touches into balloons. Toriyasu, Meeko, and the cats must find a way to transform Papadoll back to his normal size and rescue the citizens of Banipal Witt from their ballooned state before sunrise or risk becoming victims themselves.
