Saya otonashi is a young girl who lives in okinawa city with her adoptive family. she has anemia and can't remember anything from before last year, but she leads a normal life. one night at school, she gets attacked by a monster that feeds on human blood. just when things seem hopeless, haji appears and saves her temporarily. however, he forces her to drink his blood, which puts her into a trance and allows her to kill the monster using her own blood as a catalyst. she learns about red shield, an organization that fights monsters, and teams up with haji and red shield to fight these creatures and uncover the truth about her past.
