Sho was an avid mountain bike enthusiast who frequently practiced at X-Zone with friends Takumi and Makoto. Takumi was a skilled mechanic while Makoto was a competitive girl rider. One day, Sho was challenged by the MTB team "Shark Tooth" to a race at X-Zone. The bet was on whether Sho could defeat their leader. For Sho, X-Zone held special significance as it was where he had spent many days with his deceased father. He couldn't lose this game.
During the race, black smoke enveloped them and they were transported to another world. When they awoke, they found themselves in a strange new place alongside Kakeru, Makoto, and their MTB "Flame Caesar". Confused, they encountered other mountain bike riders who challenged Sho to an Idaten Battle. To win this battle, Sho had to collect 10 emblems by winning various mountain bike races at different locations such as volcanoes, ruins, deserts, snowy mountains, and graveyards. The outcome of these battles would determine whether or not Sho could return to his own world.
