A young girl named Eruruu discovers an injured man in the woods. Despite not knowing anything about him or even his name, she welcomes him into her home and gives him the name Hakuoro by her grandmother and younger sister, Araruu. The villagers have large ears and tails, but Hakuoro is different as he has no ears nor tail, only a mask that he cannot remove. A revolution against an oppressive emperor breaks out, and it reaches Eruruus village. Hakuoro must use all his abilities to protect the people and the place he loves while uncovering the secrets of his past.
